Vegetarians do Rock!

Hi! My name's Fred and I signed up for this site because I wanted to gain friends and even gain more information when it comes to being a vegetarian. If you must know, I really am not that fanatic and passionate to be a vegan. I always ask my mom to cook delicious meat foods or I'll just order from nearby restaurants.

However, it all changed when my mom went through an operation due to heart complications and high blood. The doctor advised us to undergo a healthy lifestyle to avoid f...

On the Spot: Yeast Free Diet!

People nowadays are concerned with how they look and gaining a heathy lifestyle. Whether it would cost them a fortune or not, people have the tendency of being vain with their appearance and body. Well, who wouldn't? This is especially in the kind of society and culture that we have that only skinny and pretty girls are considered to be beautiful. Many people succumb into dieting and enrolling into physical fitness programs to attain the body they are wanting to have.

Veggie girl in the kitchen

I am a single girl living in the western US which I guess would be considered a vegetarian mecca of sorts. Even though we have pretty good veggie/vegan choices I do love to cook. As far as cooking goes I try to stick to simple recipes made with fresh organic ingredients. I will write occasionally about my cooking adventures in this blog.

History of vegetarianism in India

Being of Indian origin, I've always wondered when vegetarianism started in India. Unlike the west, being vegetarian is not some new age fad, but an ancient tradition. The likelihood of meeting older vegetarians is much higher in India than anywhere else in the world. When did it all start? Were the early settlers, the people who lived by the side of the indus river, vegetarian? Did the Brahmins who conducted the sacrificial offerings to the gods, vegetarian? I would love to read a book or blog o...
